Christopher L. Yerke — Restoration Workshop

general contractor, woodwork

bathroom

This a detail from a master bathroom designed, built and installed by Restoration Workshop in a contemporary Arts and Crafts style. The wood- intensive design melds diverse materials into an integrated whole. Woods used include quilted Maple, figured Cherry, Teak, and spaulted Black Gum. The inlay in the maple panels represents an abstract cloud formation, and is crafted from Ziricote, an ebony-like tropical wood. Other materials used are copper, brazilian soapstone, and purple slate. The whole is of solid wood construction as no veneers were used. The hand hammered copper vessel sinks were also designed by Restoration Workshop and fabricated by Handcrafted Metal. The art glass window, by an unknown artist, preexisted in the original master bath.
