Gate and Fence, the Pink Lady Mansion, Eureka, California
Part of several hundred feet of fence built to go around the property. All new construction designed to match the style and scale of the mansion (the fence is over 6 feet high; the gate roof is over 11 feet). Because of its proximity to the coast and the prospect of gale force winds, each wood fence post has a 3" steel tube core bolted to a continuous concrete foundation, with larger corner posts cast in concrete to look like matching decorative wood posts. The roof shown here, done in painted cedar, also has an internal frame of welded steel tubing.
