This 1950's Orinda kitchen was updated without totally gutting the room. Original teak cabinetry was retained and appliance and plumbing locations did not change. The new red/brown flecked granite counter tops, chosen to coordinate with the cabinetry, as well as the tile flooring, add to the warm tone set by the cabinets. To accommodate the built-in refrigerator and new range, new cabinetry had to be built that was constructed and carefully finished to match the existing cabinetry.
