Thomas Fallon House Wood Graining: Thomas Fallon, the tenth mayor of San Jose, California, erected this building in San Jose in 1855. The original trims, door and window casings, base boards and staircase moldings, are of milled redwood. To create the illusion of fine woods, the redwood elements and doors had been grained to appear as if they were expensive oak. Over the years various owners and tenants painted over the original graining. George grained the trim elements and doors in the museum restoring the original appearance.
