Lorna Kollmeyer Ornamental Plaster
Hotel Majestic, San Francisco: Completed in 1984, the Hotel Majestic is an example of the large-scale pure restorations we are able to accomplish. This lovely turn of the century façade had been stripped of its extensive plasterwork in favor of a stucco finish in the 1950s. Nothing was left of the original patterns except the scars beneath the stucco and some fuzzy but very helpful Historical Society photographs. All of the original plasterwork was carefully resculpted in clay, molded, cast, and reapplied so that the Majestic's façade once again lives up to its name!
