Turkish parlor

Turkish Parlor in the Brune-Reutlinger House (1886) in San Francisco. A combination of wallpaper elements (Bradbury & Bradbury, installed by Peter Bridgman) on the walls and ceiling, and newly handpainted finishes applied to the original plasterwork and Lincrusta wainscoting, were combined here to create a suitable backdrop for the fancifully eclectic furnishings of this whimsically high-style room scheme, which was inspired by similarly exotic interiors of the Aesthetic Movement period (photo from Victorian Glory.)
