Parchment Rose

This is a 3-dimensional ornament that fits into the hole in the middle of a harpsichord soundboard. It's cut from several pieces of sheepskin, which are glued together and assembled to form something that kind of resembles a wedding cake turned inside out. This particular “rose” has gold leaf applied to the top layer, and the subsequent tiers are made with two different kinds of parchment to give a two-tone effect.

Approximately 3.5 inches across and 1.5 inches deep.
