Adrian Card
harpsichord painter and historically-based decorative painting
This is another example of the 1624 Ruckers instrument known as the Colmar Ruckers, although for this one we choose a motif based on the work of Joris Hoefnagel, an artist from Antwerp who did some bizarre and fantastic illuminations in the 1590s. This is only one detail, but more photos can be seen at www.adriancard.com
This decoration was also done in period pigments, and then covered with a crackle varnish.
